Detox and Stocking up Basics [Garden]

detox-stock-up-garden

Following my previous posts Detox and Stocking upDetox and Stocking up Basics [Cupboard] and Detox and Stocking up Basics [Fridge / Freezer]  this is the last post in the series and we will the garden section.

Herbs are very easy to grow at home and most of them are low maintenance. They can be grown in post, so you don’t need a huge garden to grow your own herbs, a good sized window sill is enough.

Plants such as herbs, onions and chives and root vegetables such as carrots and potatoes as well as salad leaves are all easy to grow, requires little maintenance and can be grown in small spaces.

The best detox herbs for pots or garden (if you are lucky enough to have one) are:

  • chives
  • garlic
  • rosemary
  • parsley
  • mint
  • basil
  • thyme

Where I currently live, I don’t have a garden, I just have a good sized balcony with a good amount of sunlight and I manage to grow the following without much problems:

  • Spinach
  • Kale
  • Lettuce
  • Rocket and other kinds of salad leave
  • Tomatoes
  • Mint
  • Basil
  • Chilli peppers
  • Bay Leaves

Hint: I cover my salad leaves with a metal net (with one inch holes) as birds were eating my salad leaves.

Do you grow any edible plants? and which ones are your favourite?
