Following the previous post, I mentioned that healthy food can be easily stocked up either in the cupboard, fridge, freezer or even in the garden. Here we will see some examples from these categories
In the cupboard
Feel like it is an exhausting task having to stock up you cupboards every couple of days? Don’t worry, most of these items keep for months if properly stored.
Common healthy and detox ingredients; brown rice, bulgar wheat, millet and quinoa. These can be used with any dish and can be prepared as you would prepare any grains, flavoured with herbs and spices. Nuts and seeds, such as sesame, sunflower, dried pulses, beans and herbal teas are all inexpensive addition to your cupboard. Nuts seeds and pulses provide protein that strengthens your body, especially if you combine them with grains.
Stock olive oil and coconut oil as these are really healthy and help in lubricating your digestive system.
You can buy dried staples in bulk as these keep up for months and it will cost way less
Some items I love buying in bulk are: All kinds of nuts, medjool dates, oats, brown rice, beans and pulses.
What are the items you tend to bulk buy?
