I’ve been hearing a lot about body brushing for quite some time now, and I’ve decided to give it a go.
I purchased a body brush quite some time ago, used it for a while and sort of left it there. Recently I’ve re introduced some healthy life style changes and after some research it seems that body brushing is a great one to add to my routine.
It has many benefits including helping circulation, stimulating the lymphatic system which is a part of the body’s detox process and also helps with cellulite. It can also act as an exfoliator for your skin and should help your skin cells re generate to reduce the negative effects of steroid creams which are the most common treatments for eczema sufferers.
I have come across this video by GreenSmoothieGirl on the correct way to body brush, which is very informative and includes the correct way of skin brushing to help the lymphatic system. Amazingly enough, Dry body brushing can also help in reducing the chances of some diseases.
I have tried this process a couple of times and I am trying to incorporate it into my daily routine (although I am not quite there yet). I do feel refreshed afterwards and during the process I actually feel my circulation moving and my skin is baby smooth afterwards.
I am no expert in the matter, but I would recommend following such process and see if you can feel the difference.
When I do it
I try to do it before my morning shower, as it is important to do it on dry skin without any products applied to it and I have been using the Hydrea London body brush which I love as it has a handle that helps in reaching certain areas on your back, but the handle can also be removed for a more comfortable movement alone the rest of your body.
