Current Skincare Routine – DIY

wpid-final1428148185760.jpg

Following my previous post Current Skin care routine, this post will mention my DIY routine which I have been alternating with and found really effective.

This routine consists mostly of items which you will find in the kitchen cupboard but I have really seen an improvement in my skin since following this routine along with the more conventional routine in my previous post.

Morning Routine

For my morning routine I use my more conventional routine since I will be applying some makeup and going out, some of the products I use might interfere

Evening Routine

CleanseFor this step I use coconut oil and I love the one by the brand Biona Organic. I use coconut oil as my first cleanse to melt away any makeup and remove dirt. I find coconut oil really effective especially on eye make up which is usually hard to remove. I always use a warm flannel to remove my cleanser / oil. I then re apply coconut oil as my second cleanse, remove with a flannel and then splash water over my face.

ToneThis might sound bizarre but I use apple cider vinegar as my toner. I put apple cider vinegar on a cotton disk and apply on my face and neck, avoiding eye area. You might have to sit still for a couple of seconds after applying as I find that moving my face right after gets the strong scent in my eyes. It is ok if I stand still for 30 seconds or so

Moisturise: For this step I go back to my coconut oil. I apply coconut oil all over my face as I would any other oil or moisturise and leave in

Eye Care: When I do not use my Pai Echium and Argan Gentle Eye Cream, I also apply coconut oil around my eye area and I make sure I apply and lightly rub on my eye brows and eyelashes as I find this helps in making them stronger.

I love alternating between this routine and my more conventional routine and I found that this has really helped in having a better skin.

This routine is also ideal for any one on a tight budget as although a good quality coconut oil is not cheap, a little goes a really long way and a small jar would last ages.

Have you tried any of the mentioned products? What are your thoughts?

PS: This is not a sponsored post and all the mentioned products are bought with my own money
