Fermented dairy products such as live natural yoghurt (often labelled ‘bio’ yoghurt contain live cultures. 

These are ‘pro-biotic’, which means that they increase the amount of ‘good’ bacteria in the gut. Some herbs and spices can also promote healthy digestion.

Chamomile is a natural relaxant that, when taken as a tea, relieves stomach upsets.

Peppermint has a relaxing effect on the digestive muscles, calming the stomach wall and relieving abdominal pains while encouraging digestive juice production.

Freshly grated ginger in warm water helps relieve wind.

 

Live natural bio yoghurt taken with fruit helps to increase the levels of good bacteria in the gut

 

Freshly grated ginger infused in tea can help settle upset stomachs
