Reading vs Movies

wpid-wp-1416664592734.jpegI love reading and have been loving reading since I was around 13 years.

When I was younger I used to hate reading and I remember my 3rd grade teacher making us read everyday at home with our parents having to sign a sheet to verify our reading time. I used to dread it back then.

I still remember the first book I read and liked, I believe it was called the cafe club, and from then on I enjoyed the fact that I can get lost in a totally different world with my imagination. I also remember the first book I read in just 1 day. It was called the “secret son” and I got so curious by the story that I kept turning the pages to see what was going to happen.

To this day I still love reading, however I don’t allocate as much time for reading as I would like to.

When it comes to movies, I much prefer a TV series than a movie, however I do enjoy action films. When it comes to choosing between reading and watching a movie, I always  try to read the book first for 2 reasons:

  1. When I read I love the thrill of having to turn the pages to find out what is going to happen, if I watch the movie 1st I would know how the story ends and I would loose interest in the book
  2. I find that books go into much more detail and the story is explained much better

So when it comes to choosing between a book and a movie, if a book is available I prefer to read the book first then watch the movie. If a book is not available I would watch the film anyway if I like the film preview. I’m quite picky in movies, I love action movies especially ones that involve cars or crime. I avoid sad or romantic movies as they make me sob most of the time!
